Surfaces
Hospital acquired infections (HAIs) have gained a much higher profile within healthcare in the last few years and a higher priority has been given to fighting and preventing them. The Tristel range of Surface products contributes significantly to the prevention of HAIs and can play an important role in managing cross-contamination and eliminating outbreaks.
According to the National Patient Safety Agency Healthcare Cleaning Manual June 2009, Infection Control Overview, “the essence of good cleaning is that things not only look clean afterwards, but that they are clean. All users of healthcare premises have a right to assume that the environment is one where infection hazards are adequately controlled”. Tristel’s Surface range complies with this.
Biocidally, chlorine dioxide is far superior to surface disinfectants that use sodium hyperchlorite (bleach), chlorine releasing compounds (NaDCC in chlorine tablets), peroxide compounds and phenols.
Chlorine dioxide also has a far superior health and safety profile compared to other surface disinfectants without causing the same health problems that come associated with other disinfectants.
