ENT

The Tristel Trio Wipes System and the Stella Decontamination System are used in hospital Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) departments in many countries.

The Tristel Trio Wipes System is recognised by the ENT UK Society as the most widely used decontamination methodology employed in United Kingdom hospitals.  The Society’s Guidance on the decontamination and sterilization of rigid and flexible endoscopes, published in 2010, refers to the decontamination methods available within UK hospitals and states “the least expensive is the use of chlorine dioxide wipes. This method has been used nationally for several years in many hospitals without any reported episode of cross infection”.

A recent paper “Evaluation of disinfection of flexible nasendoscopes using Tristel Wipes: a prospective single blind study”, published by the Royal College of Surgeons Journal, proved that the ‘in use’ efficacy of Tristel Wipes in cleaning the scopes of organisms was 100%.

The Trio Wipes System is ideal for the quick, safe and effective decontamination of non-lumened flexible nasendoscopes. The Stella Decontamination System is ideal for the decontamination of lumened flexible nasendoscopes and rigid instruments.  Both systems incorporate an audit trail process.
